Concept Lexus LF-A
After years and years of development, testing and endless spy photos, the Lexus LF-A will finally make its production debut at the 2009 Tokyo show. Details are slim, but the first Lexus supercar is expected to carry a price as big as its performance.
For as much as we’ve seen the LF-A, we still don’t know much about it. The car is believed to be powered by a 500-plus horsepower 4.8L V-10 engine powering the rear wheels through a rear-mounted transaxle. The pricing is said to run in the $200,000-plus range, making it both the most-powerful and most-expensive car Lexus has ever offered.
What we do know about the LF-A is what we can glean from pictures of it. Barely-disguised cars have been caught running around the famous Nurburgring during testing and have revealed massive brakes, multiple carbon-fiber body parts including the front splitter and rear diffuser, an active rear wing and enough scoops to make Baskin Robbins jealous. All will be revealed on Oct. 21.
